How Many Guns Do You Need

Answer: All of them.

We could honestly end the blog there. However, owning 20+ guns is not realistic or necessary in the world we live in. Below are the five guns we believe every American should own. Whether for everyday carry, home defense, or hunting, these are our go-to's.

DUTY SIZED HANDGUN

Perhaps the easiest handgun to manipulate and master is the full-size handgun. With a longer barrel and less kick, these are perfect for training. Full-size handguns are great for OWB carry, whether on a regular tactical belt or war belt. Check out our OWB carrying options with the Range+ and Contour holsters. Some notable models we have been loving are the Echelon from Springfield Armory and the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0.

CARRY SIZED HANDGUN

Compact pistols are smaller than full-size handguns and much easier to conceal and carry. With a shorter barrel and smaller magazine, they can be tucked away efficiently and securely. Guns like the Glock 43X or the Sig Sauer P365-XMACRO are great examples of high-quality, compact firearms. For ultra concealment, we offer a variety of compact Kydex holsters that are perfect for everyday carry. Our Oath and Profile+ holsters are compatible with a host of optic options.

GO TO WAR RIFLE

Next, you are going to want something with some knockdown power—something that can handle significant threats or multiple targets. Although there are many rifles on the market, we recommend going with America's Rifle: the AR-15. In a fight, it is the weapon of choice. Shooting 5.56 ammo with 30-round magazines, the AR-15 is lethal from a multitude of ranges (with the proper training, of course). The AR-15 offers precision, reliability, and ease of handling. Moreover, its modular nature allows for easy modification and adaptation to suit individual preferences and shooting requirements. And while we recommend America's rifle, the AKM, PSA JAKL, and SIG MCX SPEAR are great alternatives.

DMR

DMR stands for Designated Marksman Rifle. It is a long-barreled weapon that can shoot more accurately at a longer distance than a battle rifle. Perfect for range days and hunting big game. So you'll want a setup that can provide a clear sight picture 500 yards out. This means finding a compatible scope and caliber that gives you more reach. A great example would be a "bolt gun" from a brand like Weatherby or Remington. The FN SCAR 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor gives you a high-end assault rifle with range. However, if you do not want to break the bank, you can optimize an AR-15 setup with an 18" barrel and get great results.

SHOTGUN

For the untrained, shotguns are the ultimate home defense option. They require less specialized training than rifles or handguns, making them a valuable option in emergencies. This is especially true for people not proficient with firearm experience or training. Shotguns can also be versatile and used for hunting ducks, pheasants, and even deer
