The Perfect Pairing For Your OATH Holster

When it comes to concealed carry, most people obsess over the firearm. The reality? Your holster setup matters just as much — sometimes more. Stability, concealment, comfort, and consistency all come down to how well your holster interfaces with your belt and body.

Now our OATH series is famously an off-center, single-clip holster. It conceals tremendously and is a comfortable holster to boot. However, some have the concern of placing their full-size handgun with an optic in the OATH. This concern inspired us to bring the FlexMod into production to convert the comfort and concealability of the OATH to a dual-clip setup.

That’s where a dual clip holster setup makes a major difference. And if you’re serious about performance, DCC clips have become the gold standard.

Let’s break it down.

Why a Dual Clip Holster Setup?

A dual clip holster uses two belt attachment points instead of one. Rather than relying on a single clip centered over the firearm, it spreads the load across a wider footprint on your belt.

This small design change produces big advantages in:

  • Stability

  • Weight distribution

  • Concealment

  • Retention consistency

  • Draw performance

For appendix carry (AIWB) or strong side carry, dual clips provide a noticeably more secure platform.

1. Superior Stability During Movement

One of the biggest flaws of single-clip holsters is rotational movement.

When you sit, bend, twist, or run, a single clip acts as a pivot point. Over time, this causes:

  • Holster shift

  • Grip tilt outward

  • Inconsistent draw angle

  • Increased printing

A dual clip setup locks the holster in place across a wider section of your belt. That means less movement and more consistency.

If you carry every day — especially during long 6AM–4PM workdays like ours — stability isn’t a luxury. It’s necessary for comfort and reliability.

2. Better Weight Distribution (Especially With Lights & Optics)

Modern carry guns are heavier than they used to be.

Add:

  • A red dot optic

  • A compensator

  • A weapon-mounted light

…and suddenly you’re dealing with significantly more mass.

A dual clip holster spreads that weight across your belt line instead of concentrating it on one attachment point. That reduces pressure hot spots and prevents sagging — especially important when running a light-bearing setup. Our ARC Series is a good example of this.

3. Improved Concealment Through Grip Control

Printing happens when the grip pushes away from the body.

Dual clips allow:

  • More effective wing/claw leverage

  • Better belt tension distribution

  • Reduced grip flare

The result? A flatter profile and tighter concealment.

This matters whether you're carrying compact or full-size. The wider footprint simply gives you more mechanical advantage to control the firearm against your body.

Why DCC Makes the Best Holster Clips

Now let’s talk hardware.

Not all clips are created equal. Some stock polymer or stamped steel clips bend, flex, or lose tension over time.

DCC (Discreet Carry Concepts) changed the game.

What Makes DCC Clips Different?

Discreet Carry Concepts designs clips from heat-treated spring steel — not polymer.

That difference matters.

1. Unmatched Retention to the Belt

DCC clips bite into the belt and resist upward pull during the draw.

That means:

  • No accidental clip pop-off

  • Cleaner draw strokes

  • Greater confidence under stress

When you draw hard, the holster stays put. Period.

2. Durability That Outlasts the Holster

Polymer clips eventually fatigue. They crack. They lose tension.

DCC clips are built from hardened steel designed to maintain spring tension over years of daily use. If you carry every day, durability is not optional.

3. Slim Profile Without Bulk

Despite being steel, DCC clips remain extremely low profile.

They:

  • Sit tight to the belt

  • Reduce visible hardware

  • Improve concealment

You get strength without added thickness.

4. Real-World Performance, Not Marketing

DCC clips have been widely adopted by serious concealed carriers because they solve real problems — especially when paired with a dual clip setup.

The combination of:

  • Two attachment points

  • Hardened spring steel

  • Aggressive belt engagement

…creates one of the most stable concealed carry platforms available today.
