Canik Brings Manufacturing to America with the METE MC9 Prime

Posted by Tulster on Apr 15th 2025

In a significant move to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market, Canik has established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. This facility began mass production in December 2024, marking a pivotal step in Canik's strategy to enhance its global market strength and establish a strategic example of Turkish-American cooperation.

The first major product to emerge from this facility is the METE MC9 Prime, a micro-compact 9mm pistol that debuted at SHOT Show 2025. Designed for everyday carry, the MC9 Prime combines advanced features with practical inclusions, setting a new standard for the METE series.

SPECS

Let's discuss the details of this up-and-coming firearm. For starters, the MC9 Prime features a ported barrel and compensated slide to help reduce felt recoil. This is a tremendous out-of-the-box feature that performs impressively.

Next, we see aggressive serrations on the slide for various manipulations. The slide is optics-ready and comes with Night Fision, Tritium sights. The Canik Prime also boasts an ambidextrous slide release for all you lefties.

Moving down to the trigger, we see Canik's calling card. They feature a 90-degree break trigger with a 1.3-millimeter reset. It truly is on par with their race gun models, which is an impressive advantage for those looking to conceal carry the Canik Prime.

Looking at the grip, we see an aggressive stipple job around the backstrap and a softer stipple on the sides of the grip. This allows you to have all the friction you need while not rubbing your body raw while carrying appendix. The rear of this slimline firearm also has a loaded chamber indicator for those wanting a little bit of extra reassurance.

PRICING

The MC9 Prime is available in two configurations: a standard model priced at $649 and a version with the MECANIK MO4 enclosed emitter red dot optic priced at $849. Each package includes a premium hard case with two 17-round magazines.

With the METE MC9 Prime, Canik has introduced a high-performance concealed carry pistol and reinforced its commitment to the U.S. market by bringing manufacturing operations stateside. This strategic move is expected to bolster the company's global position as a leading firearms brand. And of course, if you are looking to carry the Canik you can rock any of the Tulster models listed below.
