OATH vs. Profile+

OATH vs. Profile+

If you have been following us for a while, you know of our two front-running IWB holsters, The OATH and the recently added Profile+. Over the years (and thousands of 5-star reviews later), we have watched these two products build a name for themselves and become the trusted EDC holster for Americans everywhere. Each holster has its unique design and features, so we will highlight the key similarities and differences between OATH and Profile+.

ORIENTATION.

The OATH and Profile+ are inside the waistband holsters best utilized in the appendix carry position. However, some prefer the traditional strong-side carry option. A key difference is that the OATH is an ambidextrous holster, while the Profile+ is not. Relocating the OATH's hardware to the other side of the holster will adapt it to whichever hand orientation you prefer, whereas The Profile+ comes in right-handed and left-handed models only.

HARDWARE.

Let's talk about the hardware we use. Both of these holsters have adjustable retention for optimal carrying security. The OATH has fixed multi-stage retention via the shims that come with it. The retention for The Profile+ can be adjusted with a Phillips screwdriver due to its use of a rubber spacer for setting retention.

The OATH boasts our ModWing, a proven piece of hardware that provides optimal concealment. Pushing against the backside of your belt, it leverages the grip towards your side, reducing printing. A 3/8" medium attachment comes pre-installed, and a 1/2" large attachment is also included for those who want even more concealment. Combined with the holding strength of the DCC Mod 4 steel clip, it provides proven holster retention to the belt that does not quickly fail.

For the Profile+, we redesigned the blocking and shifted it slightly, creating a geometry that would not flex as much when the user donned/doffed the holster. We also upgraded from the plastic quick clip to the DCC Monoblock steel clip. The Profile+, like its predecessor, is compatible with the Tulster Sidekick and is an all-around great option for concealed carry, whether appendix or strong side carry.

COMPATIBILITY.

Both the OATH and the Profile+ are engineered for optic compatibility. From RMRs to SROs, these holsters are ready for action. While these are incompatible with a weapon light, our soon-to-be-released ARC Holster will be compatible with optics and lights made by popular brands like SureFire and Streamlight. Stay tuned for the ARC's release coming this summer.
