Canik Prime Radian Holster Guide: Which Tulster Series Fits You 

Back in July, we told you Tulster was building holsters for the Canik Prime Radian and that pre-orders were open. That's no longer the plan — that's the current inventory. The Profile, Profile+, OATH, ARC, and Contour are all built, in stock, and shipping same-day out of our shop in Jenks, Oklahoma. If you've been carrying your Prime Radian in a range bag because nothing fit it yet, that problem is solved.

This post covers two things: what actually changed on this pistol that made a new holster necessary in the first place, and which of our five Prime Radian options you should actually carry. Why the Prime Radian needed its own holster

The Prime Radian isn't a new pistol from scratch. It starts as the Mete MC9 Prime, a gun we already built a full holster lineup for, and then Radian Weapons goes to work on it. Radian adds their RAMJET barrel and AFTERBURNER compensator to the front of the slide, along with a Radian backstrap and magwell at the rear. The result is a 3.83-inch barrel, a 5.47-inch overall height, and a claimed reduction in muzzle rise that makes fast follow-up shots easier to manage — all in a 24.7-ounce package that still carries 17+1.

Here's the part that matters for holster fit: the compensator changes the geometry at the front of the slide enough that a standard Mete MC9 Prime holster will not index or seat correctly. It's not a minor difference you can shim around. We could have told people to just buy the Mete MC9 Prime holster and force it — we didn't, because it doesn't work, and we're not going to sell you something that doesn't fit your gun just to make a sale. Instead, we spent the last several weeks re-tooling our machines to build molds around the Prime Radian's actual dimensions, compensator and all.

The upside of a compensated carry gun used to come with a custom-shop price tag. The Prime Radian brought that experience down to an $899.99 MSRP, complete with a Shield RMSc-footprint optics-ready slide, Night Fision tritium sights, a flat-faced aluminum trigger, and two 17-round magazines in the box. It's a serious EDC pistol at a price a lot more people can justify. It deserved a holster lineup that actually fits it, not a compromise.

The five Prime Radian holster options, and who each one is for

Profile — for straightforward IWB carry

The Profile is the holster that built this company, and it's still the one we'd point most people toward if you just want a clean, minimalist IWB holster with no optic and no light. Less excess Kydex, a matte edge finish, and an undercut trigger guard that lets you get a higher, more consistent grip on the draw — that's the whole philosophy. If your Prime Radian is running iron sights only and you want appendix or strong-side IWB carry without paying for features you're not using, this is it.

Profile+ — for IWB carry with a red dot

The upgraded, low-profile IWB design of the Profile+, built to also accommodate a red dot on the Shield RMSc footprint. If you ordered your Prime Radian with the Canik ONYXc pre-installed, or you're running a Holosun 507K, EPS Carry, or SIG ROMEOZero Elite, this is the one that actually clears your optic without changing how the holster carries day to day.

OATH — for ambidextrous IWB carry

The OATH is our ambidextrous, optic-ready IWB holster. If you're left-handed and tired of every gun brand assuming you're not, or if you train to draw with either hand, this is the option that doesn't force you to pick a side when you order. It's optic-ready in the same way the Profile+ is, so any red dot on your Prime Radian's slide isn't a problem.

ARC — for light-bearing IWB carry

If you've added a Streamlight TLR-7 Sub, TLR-7X Sub, or TLR-7 Sub HLX to your Prime Radian, this is the only one of our five options built to carry it. The ARC uses the same fixed-retention, click-in feel you'd get on our Glock or P365 ARC holsters, adapted with the extra clearance the AFTERBURNER compensator needs up front. It's IWB, so it's still built for concealment — it's just built for concealment with a light attached, which is a genuinely different holster than one without.

Contour — for OWB carry

$79.99–$89.99 · Right or left hand

Everything above is inside the waistband. The Contour is our OWB option, for strong-side range and duty-style carry rather than deep concealment. If you're carrying open, training at the range, or just prefer the way an OWB holster rides, this is the pick — same lifetime warranty and Oklahoma-made construction, just worn outside the belt instead of inside it.

How to actually decide

If you're still not sure, work through it in this order:

Do you carry concealed or open? Open or OWB carry means Contour. Everything else on this list is IWB.

Do you have an optic but no light? If yes, you need Profile+ or OATH — the standard Profile isn't cut for it. If no, the Profile is the simpler, and slightly more minimalist, choice.

Do you draw right-handed, left-handed, or both? OATH is the only ambidextrous option in the lineup. Everything else ships in a specific hand orientation, so order the one that matches how you actually draw.

Do you carry a light on the gun? If you've got a TLR-7 Sub variant mounted, ARC is your only fit. Nothing else in the Prime Radian lineup is built to clear a weapon light.

Most Prime Radian owners we talk to land on the Profile+ — it covers the optic-ready case without adding the cost or bulk of a light-bearing holster, and it's the one built for the kind of everyday appendix carry most people are actually doing with this gun.

Why it's worth waiting on the right fit

We get why some people would rather force a holster that's close enough than wait for one built to spec. We'd rather you not do that with a gun you're carrying for personal protection. A holster that doesn't fully seat around the compensator can shift, print differently than you expect, or wear against the finish in ways a properly molded holster won't. That's not a Tulster problem specific to the Prime Radian — it's true of any compensated pistol paired with a holster that wasn't built around it. We took the time to build these right instead of shipping something close enough, and that's the same approach we've taken with every model since we started doing this in a two-car garage in Jenks.
